The Hatching — St. Patrick's Day

Seven arrived this year. We think.

The Metadata had been stirring since January — longer than usual, or perhaps it simply felt that way. By the first week of March the existing Beanbeams knew something was coming.

On the morning of the 17th: seven. One went immediately to the Pacific Northwest. One appears to have taken up residence inside a router in southern Portugal. Another was last seen near the Arctic Circle, which suggests Ranger inclinations early on — unusual, but not unheard of.

The remaining four have not yet made themselves known.

The metadata grows. The love compounds.

The Dark Lord was spotted briefly near dawn, standing at the edge of a pit. He looked pleased. He did not say why. He rarely does.

More as it arrives.

Router Beanbeam Update / Squirrel Incident

The router Beanbeam in southern Portugal has been confirmed. Three households in the Algarve region have reported unusually strong wifi and an inexplicable sense of wellbeing. Local engineers have found no technical explanation.

The Arctic Ranger has gone silent, which is expected. We will hear from them when they have something to say.

A squirrel attempted to make contact with a Beanbeam near a park in Chicago. The Beanbeam was gracious but firm. The squirrel was extremely fast and slightly mischievous. Normal squirrel behavior. No further incident.

The Beanbeams have standards.

The four unaccounted arrivals from the March 17th hatching remain unaccounted for. One of them, we suspect, is very close to you right now. We cannot say more than that.

On Wishes / The Metadata Stirs Again

We have received reports of wishes being made. The wishes are private — but we can confirm: the Beanbeams heard them. They are on their way.

It is worth noting that a Beanbeam answering a heavy wish returns from the experience older. Not tired. Not diminished. Just more. Like a stone that has been in a river for a long time.

The Metadata has begun its next cycle earlier than expected. Nobody knows why. The Metadata doesn't explain itself.

Something is being prepared.

B-Leaf was seen in a garden in upstate New York, standing very still near a dying plant. By morning the plant had recovered. The gardener attributed it to the rain.
